trg. consulting, located at 3-4A Little Portland St, London W1W 7JB, provides both recruitment and consultancy services to businesses, specialising in the Software Engineering industry. We offer permanent, temporary, and consultancy services, helping clients find the best talent and providing tailored consultancy to meet their specific needs.

What personal data do we collect about you?

We collect the information necessary to be able to find available opportunities and assess your eligibility through the different stages of recruitment and consultancy. This information includes CVs, identification documents, educational records, work history, employment references, and more.

Further along the process, we may also collect sensitive personal data about you, such as passport or driving licence scans, visa details, and bank information. We only collect sensitive personal data from you and further process this data with your explicit consent.

 

Where do we collect personal data about you from?

The following are the different sources we may collect personal data about you from:

  • Directly from you. This is information you provide while searching for a new opportunity and/or during different recruitment or consultancy stages.

  • From an agent/third party acting on your behalf (e.g., a Contractors Limited Company).

  • Through publicly available sources. We use the following public sources:

    • LinkedIn

    • Job Boards

    • GitHub

  • By reference or word of mouth. For example, you may be recommended by a friend, former employer, former colleague, or even a current employer.

 

Where we collect your information through publicly available sources as set out above, we may do this with the aid of software programmes, such as Bullhorn. These programmes are given parameters on the requirements of a role and search through publicly available sources to find candidates. These programmes are designed to output information on candidates that meet the search criteria and are restricted to searching for Name, Age, and Job Role information from public sites where there is a reasonable expectation that such information may be collected and processed for recruitment and consultancy purposes.

 

How do we use your personal data?

We use your personal data to match your skills, experience, and education with a potential employer or consultancy opportunity. Initially, we collect basic information such as contact details, job role, and experience, and pass this on to the client in search of personnel. If you are chosen by the client and progress to the next stage, we will collect additional information through interviews (or equivalent) as needed.

 

How long do we keep your personal data for?

We retain your information only as long as necessary to use it as described above or to comply with our legal obligations. However, we may retain some of your information after you cease to use our services, for example, if this is required for tax, accounting, or legal purposes.

When determining retention periods, we will take into account factors such as:

(a) our contractual obligations and rights in relation to the information
(b) legal obligations under applicable laws
(c) our legitimate interests in processing the data
(d) statute of limitations
(e) any potential disputes
(f) your request to delete the information
(g) guidelines issued by relevant data protection authorities

We share your personal data with clients who have available positions, to help determine if you are a good fit for the role. We predominantly work with clients in the software engineering industry, covering both permanent and temporary opportunities. While many of our clients are based in London, we also work with clients across the UK and Europe.

 

Additionally, we may share your personal data with third parties who act for us as data controllers or processors, such as our accounting team, IT team, and CRM service providers. We may also share your information with former employers for references, but only with your consent.

 

What legal basis do we have for using your information?

For prospective candidates, contractors, referees, and clients, our processing is necessary for our legitimate interests in assessing suitability for potential roles and finding candidates. We conduct a balancing test to ensure our processing is necessary and that your privacy rights are not outweighed by our interests.

What happens if you do not provide us with the information we request or ask us to stop processing your information?

If you do not provide the necessary personal data or withdraw consent for processing, we may not be able to match you with job opportunities or proceed with consultancy services.

 

For clients, we may rely on processing being necessary to perform a contract.

 

Do we make automated decisions concerning you?

No, we do not carry out automated profiling.
